Work on two major Bahrain road projects starting soon within the next few months, bringing further transport improvements to the region.
The first project is the second phase of the Muharraq ring road, for which plans are reportedly in place. The work will extend the ring road from Dair village to Busaiteen. There will also be a fourth bridge and multi-lane road built in each direction to link Manama City to Northern Manama Causeway as part of this project.
The second project is the Alba/Nuwaidrat project at Shaikh Jaber Al Ahmed Al Sabah Avenue. This is an intersections development project, which includes a three-layered intersection at Alba roundabout, and replacement of the roundabout with traffic lights. There will also be a new dual flyover bridge above the Nuwaidrat intersection, while part of the Shaikh Jaber Al Ahmed Al Sabah Avenue between the intersections will also be rebuilt. This project also includes changes to the Ma’ameer Industrial Area at Avenue 15, as well as the construction of a dual road linking the industrial area with King Hamad Avenue, south of the Alba roundabout.
Meanwhile, further work is already underway in a bid to ease congestion and improve traffic flow in the Juffair ring road project and development of the Al Fateh Highway intersections.
