Palestine birth place of 3 of the major monotheistic religions of the western world is still subject to one of the Longest-Running Disputes in Human History.
Palestine in the ancient world was part of that region of western Asia between the Mediterranean and River Jordan, and was known as “Canaan”. The Philistines and Phoenicians descendants of the Canaan’s, together with, later on, the Israelite and Judah nations were founded, settled and cohabited between each other more or less peacefully over long stretches of time.
The successive waves of peoples and cultures originating from the surrounding nations of Syria, Egypt, Babylon and Arabia took turns to control the region with relative success. So did the Romans, the Byzantines, the Mongols, the Arabs, the Europeans and the Turks’ Empires alternatively.
Today, it is still in great need of re-foundation on a lasting and a justly balanced and consensual understanding.
