A recent piece in Gulf Industry News covered the coming Getenergy’s VTEC MENA 2015. That is the Middle East and North Africa’s (MENA) leading event for education and training for the oil and gas industry. During this event, approximately 300 leaders from across the region’s various sectors will meet to develop technical and vocational education partnerships.
Gulf Industry News reports that “governments, colleges, training companies and upstream oil and gas industries” will present for the event from November 23 to 25, at the Gasco Headquarters, Abu Dhabi, UAE. The goal of the event is to “enable dialogue and collaboration between the private education and training community, amongst the public education systems in the MENA region to enhance education provision” said a statement.
It also intends to “create a forum for exchanging best practices, methods and approaches for creating a sustainable local talent pool for the region’s oil and gas sector”. Additionally, it looks to “create a marketplace for providers of education and training to meet with the MENA industry, to build partnerships and collaborate with the industry and each other”.
VTEC MENA 2015 aims to help education institution such as colleges, technical universities and technician training providers connect with energy companies from across the region. Secondly, it will help government, oil, gas and service companies to secure partnerships with education providers in developing a “local, safe and well trained workforce”.
The event will be held under the patroniage of Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, UAE Minister of Energy.
