Dubai was named the eighth most desirable city for expats to live and work in, according to a recent InterNations survey.
New York was ranked the top destination for both men and women following a survey of 14,000 expats from around the world.
The Big Apple was closely followed London, Barcelona, Sydney and San Francisco. Also in the top 10 were Paris, Singapore, Dubai, Amsterdam and Rome.
However, the Munich-based expat social network found discrepancies between male and female expats at the lower end of the top ten.
Rome, Berlin and Cape Town featured in women’s top ten, while men were found to prefer Singapore, Dubai and Vancouver.
In an earlier report published by InterNations, Kuwait was voted the worst country for expats to live and work in,
Qatar and Saudi Arabia also made the list, coming in at 54th place and 61st respectively.
Meanwhile countries such as Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates and Oman were ranked as more favorable compared to the other Gulf countries. They were placed much ahead at 17th, 19th and 24th places respectively.
